PES Networking
Since 2000, the Lithuanian Employment Service has been an active member of the informal PES network and a dedicated participant in the “PES to PES Dialogue” programme. The European Commission has recognised the Lithuanian Employment Service as one of the best-prepared institutions in the network. Its highly skilled professionals have organised training seminars for mid-level managers of employment services in new EU member states, such as Bulgaria and Romania, as well as in candidate countries, including Croatia and Turkey.
The PES network operates continuously, with its Board convening twice a year in the EU member state holding the Presidency of the EU Council. These meetings address the most pressing issues in employment policy and service delivery.
The Lithuanian Employment Service actively seeks out innovative practices from other countries. A notable example is its close cooperation with its Baltic neighbours—Latvia and Estonia—through the “Baltic PES” partnership. This collaboration focuses on exchanging experiences and sharing best practices among the public employment services of the three countries.
