INTERCEPT
Connecting young NEETs with job opportunities in the green sector. INTERCEPT is aimed at unleashing the potential of NEETs aged 25-29 in the green sector. The project will carry out research on NEETS and green companies, identifying needs and opportunities in this area: it will select 300 NEETs (people Not in Education, Employment or Training) in Italy, Malta and Lithuania.
Empowering a green and sustainable future!
Today's young generation will undoubtedly be the most affected by global climate change. In this context, resorting to investments in a green economy can help secure a just and equitable future that improves people’s lives through the advancement of environmental and social well-being. The project is carrying out research on NEETS (people Not in Education, Employment or Training) and green companies, identifying needs and opportunities in this area: it will select 300 NEETs aged 25-29 in Italy, Malta and Lithuania, train and enroll them in 3-month paid internships in green businesses. This is a pilot experience, so its effectiveness will be tested and evaluated locally. At the end of the project, all the data collected in the 3 local pilots will be used to develop policy recommendations at the European level.

Work60plus: Promoting Longer and Flexible Employment for Older Workers
The Work60plus project, implemented in partnership with Polish collaborators, is dedicated to creating a framework that enables individuals aged 60 and above in Lithuania to remain in the workforce longer and more flexibly. The project aims to establish a supportive and modified work environment tailored to the needs of this age group.
At the heart of Work60plus is an interdisciplinary model designed to extend professional activity for employees approaching or beyond retirement age. This model focuses on three key areas: ergonomics, flexibility, and the validation of the work environment. The programme integrates two complementary models:
- firm60plus: Helps enterprises prepare for retaining employees approaching retirement age by supporting efforts to maintain their professional activity.
- employee60plus: Prepares older employees to stay active in the labour market, ensuring they have the tools and mindset to continue contributing.
Intervention Stages
The model follows a three-step intervention process:
1. audit60plus: Conducts an inventory of workplace characteristics to assess the current environment.
2. adaptation60plus: Focuses on modifying workplace features (adaptation) and employee support (accommodation) to create a more inclusive environment.
3. employment60plus: Implements strategies to maintain or extend professional activity, aligning workplace changes with the needs of older employees.
Key Indicators
Three groups of indicators guide the programme’s implementation:
- ergonomics60plus: Addresses ergonomic considerations, including workplace design and the health and fitness needs of older employees.
- flexibility60plus: Focuses on flexible work arrangements that accommodate reduced efficiency and availability due to family or social responsibilities.
- competencies60plus: Evaluates job competence requirements, including psychophysical attributes, technological tasks, and organisational responsibilities.
Implementation Stages
The Work60plus project unfolds across six stages, three of which involve international collaboration:
1. Development of model tools in partnership with foreign collaborators.
2. Model testing with target groups to assess feasibility and effectiveness.
3. Analysis of test results in cooperation with international partners.
4. Finalisation of tools through joint refinement with foreign collaborators.
5. Implementation of the model via educational activities to prepare organisations and employees.
6. Development of recommendations to support practical use of the model.
Through these efforts, Work60plus seeks to transform workplace environments, ensuring that older employees in Lithuania can thrive in their careers while meeting the evolving needs of employers.
