International Relations Division of the Lithuanian Employment Service
The International Relations Division of the Lithuanian Employment Service plays a pivotal role in fostering global partnerships and driving innovative labour market initiatives. Its strategic activities for 2024 focus on four key areas of international cooperation:
Active Participation in the European Network of Public Employment Services (PES):
Building on a strong tradition, the division contributes to PES by exchanging best practices and exploring new ways to enhance service delivery through mutual learning initiatives.
Fostering Eastern Partnership Collaboration:
The division is committed to deepening partnerships with Eastern Partnership countries, promoting shared learning and joint development projects.
Innovating Through International Projects:
By utilising diverse funding sources and programmes, the division develops international projects aimed at improving both existing and emerging employment services.
Promoting Return Migration with “Maybe to Lithuania?” (“Gal į Lietuvą?”):
This flagship project connects Lithuanians living abroad with opportunities in the Lithuanian labour market, encouraging them to return and contribute to the nation’s growth.
The division is also an active member of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES), further expanding its global reach and influence.
In addition to these initiatives, the division coordinates a project with the International Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to create an advanced tool for measuring the effectiveness of active labour market policies in Lithuania.
By collaborating with international partners, the International Relations Division strengthens Lithuania’s role in the global employment sector, fostering innovation, and addressing shared challenges in labour markets worldwide.
