Related to the recruitment of foreigners!
Following the announcement of a COVID-19 emergency, the Employment Service temporarily changes customer service procedures to protect customers and employees from potential risks.
As of 16 March, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania has adopted a decision to prohibit foreigners from entering the Republic of Lithuania, except in special cases where the carriage of goods is carried out, where persons have the right to reside in the Republic of Lithuania, where persons have immunities and privileges under the Vienna Conventions (for diplomats). The exemption applies to persons serving NATO and NATO military units and personnel serving them, their family members.
Please note that there is currently a temporary absence of a service for employers regarding the issuance of work permits for foreigners and on the adoption of new decisions on the compliance of foreign work with the labour market needs of the Republic of Lithuania.
Employers wishing to continue their working relations with foreigners may apply for a decision only in case of foreigners who currently work and live in the Republic of Lithuania. Documents on decisions to recruit foreigners will be taken only remotely.
New applications for the granting of work permits for foreigners in the Republic of Lithuania or for the adoption of a decision on the compliance of the work of the foreigner with the needs of the labour market will not be accepted on a temporary basis.
